Beware some “easy instant sitebuilder” products that might tempt you to go it alone. They’ll prompt you for content, then generate something from a template... but when you come to make changes, you’re on your own with a mess of HTML.

My approach is to help you to get a site up quickly that does the job, looks good and is easy to maintain. You probably won’t need (initially at least) advanced interactive features, and you probably don’t want to pay for a team or studio full of designers. But you do want to be able to keep your site up to date.

From Aus$600 (US$540) you can get a complete self-maintenance site (3 – 12 pages) with clear menu navigation and colours matching your business identity as you present it on stationery, cards, brochure, etc. Larger and more complex sites by quotation. For a managed site (one that I continue to maintain) a reasonable retainer will be payable according to the frequency of change and other factors.

Help with domain name and hosting is included. For a business web presence you need a domain name, such as mybusiness.com or mybusiness.com.au. If you don’t have a domain name already, I can help you to find and register a suitable one without paying over the odds. You’ll also need to have the site hosted (unless you are running your own web server) and here again I can help by suggesting suitable hosting services.

From Aus$150 (US$130) if you are ordering a site, you can get a compatibly designed MS Outlook or Outlook Express e-mail newsletter template to reuse with fresh content for each issue.

Content (the actual text and images you want to publish) would normally be supplied by you, but if required I can help by assembling content from various sources or by interviewing you or your staff. This would be quoted as an extra on a per hour/day basis.
